Maserati showcases sartorial excellence with launch of “Ermenegildo Zegna Interiors”
Dubai, 11 November 2015 – For this year’s Dubai International Motor Show Maserati has shown a new highlight in terms of customization and sartorial excellence for the first time in the Middle East – the new Ermenegildo Zegna Interiors, exclusively for Maserati.
Like Maserati, Ermenegildo Zegna looks back at over 100 years of Italian heritage and today is one of the leading luxury menswear brands creating the world’s finest textiles. A 100% natural fibre Zegna Mulberry silk was developed in cooperation with Maserati and combined with fine leather to create the Ermenegildo Zegna Interiors. The specialized silk cloth adorns the seats, door panels, roof lining and sunshades. The seat covers and door panels receive an added touch of luxury with stitching in a contrasting colour. The headrest is embroidered with an eye-catching Trident, the Maserati brand emblem.
The Ermenegildo Zegna Interiors are available in three colour variants for the interiors of the Quattroporte and Ghibli and are the most exquisite of all Maserati customisations.
Managing Director for Middle East, India & Africa, Umberto Cini, was present to comment on the show: “In the midst of progress, we must remember our heritage. Maserati is quintessentially Italian, exclusive and sporty with a strong focus on tailor-making. Owning a Maserati must be like wearing a tailor-made suit in a world of uniforms. With Zegna we have taken this adage to the ultimate level, by bringing the suit into the car and making a fabric, that is normally worn as luxury clothing, last the lifetime of a car. It is something no one else can offer.”
In addition to Model Year 2016 Maserati Quattroporte and Ghibli with Ermenegildo Zegna Interiors as well as GranTurismo and GranCabrio, the Maserati stand at the 2015 Dubai Motor Show also featured a glimpse into the future of Maserati. The trident brand, for the first time in the Middle East, presented the Maserati Alfieri - a 2+2 concept car hailed as archetypal for the future design DNA of Maserati.
The striking concept bears the name of Alfieri, the most prominent of the Maserati brothers, and the engineering genius who founded “Officine Alfieri Maserati” in Bologna a century ago.
There is no doubt that the Alfieri concept represents the true essence of Maserati. Taking inspiration from one of the most fascinating cars of all time, the Maserati A6 GCS-53 designed by Pininfarina in 1954, the Alfieri’s designers have developed a streamlined, uncluttered form. It is characterized by a long, low nose, the characteristic grille and aggressive headlights as well as the signature triple air ducts on the wheel arches and the Saetta badge on the rear pillar. In the 2+2 seat cabin, the design team created a study in simplicity and minimalism.
“The Alfieri is a transition point between 100 glorious years of history and the future that is opening up before us” said Lorenzo Ramaciotti, the mastermind behind the project.

ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA INTERIORS
The Ermenegildo Zegna interiors exclusively for Maserati combine fine leather with 100% natural fibre Zegna Mulberry silk inserts on the seats, door panels, roof lining, sunshades and ceiling light fixture. The seat covers and door panels receive an added touch of luxury with stitching in a contrasting colour. The headrest is embroidered with an eye-catching Trident, the Maserati brand emblem.
Available in three colour variants for the Quattroporte and Ghibli, the exclusive Zegna interiors will be the most exquisite of all Maserati customisations.
The interior offering includes a choice of colour combinations: the Ermenegildo Zegna silk, always in Anthracite colour, can be combined with three different shades of luxurious fine leather, for three individual looks:
· Black colour fine grain Leather / Anthracite Ermenegildo Zegna Silk / contrasting grey stitching on seats, dashboard, door panels and headrests
· Natural colour fine grain Leather / Anthracite Ermenegildo Zegna Silk / contrasting grey stitching on seats, dashboard, door panels and headrests
· Red colour fine grain Leather / Anthracite Ermenegildo Zegna Silk / contrasting grey stitching on seats, dashboard, door panels and headrests
To focus on details, with the Ermenegildo Zegna Interiors the outsides of the seats are in extra fine grain leather with contrasting, light grey stitching, matched to an Anthracite central silk insert with a micro-chevron weave of vertical rolls on the central seat and backrest area. Within this area, the central roll, with leather tapes on the sides, features a special macro-chevron weave adding to its three-dimensional feel and technical look.
On the door panels, the central parts are covered with Zegna silk Jersey and embellished by a diagonal roll pattern, with ton-sur-ton ornamental stitching and alternating rib embroideries. The same fabric is used to cover the car's roof lining and sunshades, the latter carrying grosgrain “Ermenegildo Zegna Exclusively for Maserati” brand labels on the inside. The sophisticated, luxurious finish of the car interior is further enhanced by the headrests, featuring an embroidered Trident emblem and contrasting stitching.
This extended, exclusive product offering for the Maserati saloons is available for all markets, on all Quattroporte and Ghibli versions.
